So it's been exactly 1 month and 1 week since SMASH! 2014 came to a close.. this is a biit of a late recap, please excuse my tardiness
SMASH! was for the first time, a massive 2-day convention held 9-10th August this month with over 13 000 attendees. It was amazing to be able to exhibit my art as well as two other friends', and even though there were many difficulties trying to manage everything for the first time it was a really great experience and I've learnt so much about marketing from this too. There have been numerous late nights rushing prints and merch, cutting out keychains, making pricetags, packing everything together ... so here's a shoutout to the lovely SMASH veterans who I've messaged SOS calls of help to for tips and preparation ideas! I couldn't have achieved such a great result without having known your words of wisdom so I'm really grateful for that ♥
Kaay, enough of the intro, let's have some photos!
I shared a table with the lovely chain-star
of Cactus Juice, she has all these lovely handmade accessories and charms and she just made our table 3255409x cuter!
Seeing my art made into merch was just so surreal, the weekend went too quickly ;A; I invited my lovely friend Nia to help me and she was just the sweetest soul, thank youuuh!
Blurring out our faces because we be derping o3o I'm the kid with cherry twintails and she's the nyan on the left ฅ^•ω•^ฅ
There's so much to write about so uh.. here, take my top 3 highlights!
#1. meeting a watcher who i had a convo with the night before, it turns out that she's in my rollcall class at school whhhhhskdlfjlds it's a small world <3
#2. getting Sailor Moon's Japanese voice actor Kotono Mitsuishi to sign my Sailor Moon print ;w; amg.
#3. being able to do a last minute before-doors-close-for-good prints swapping spree with all the other artists at the convention! thanks for trading with me~
It was such an amazing weekend, the most productive and hectic 48 hours ever (going with a tourist bus on holidays don't count) Thanks to everyone who stopped by to browse, chat, smiled at me ?? and bought anything! I've sold out of the keychains and badges (that blue backing board) but I've still got a large number of prints and assorted bookmarks left! I might set up storenvy if anyone's still interested. I'll need to do some research to see how these things work logistically first, of course c; Check out the 5 prints in this folder
to see which prints are available. The bookmarks are of the same pieces, but with the character cropped out. You can see moar detail if you click into the above photo!
I'm hovering really close to 400 watchers now and this is so exciting for me! I didn't think that this number would ever grow so quickly, so thanks to everyone for all your active support. I really appreciate all your views, faves, comments and critiques and thanks for being there for me each time I come out of a hiatus :') I'll be doing some kind of raffle or giveaway when we hit 500 watchers, with art or points or whatever you prefer? We'll see when we get there ~

I'm trying to avoid these periods of no updating, so I thought I'd expand the horizons and give facebook a go!
The aim is for me to do daily updates, may it be something from my personal life. or art related ie. WIPs, sketches done in class/commuting, ideas, other unfinished (and eventually, finished) pieces! So please like my page to keep updated! I'll save dA for formally finished works from now on ^u^
