CommentsTeehee! Thanks for the Critique, Niji-chan. ;U; It didn't suck at all! You did a very good job, in fact.
Shoujo eyes make-up~! XD Yeah, I had intended to make them really big and bright - it was a fun change. Although I will probably only ever do it again for fun. I don't dislike the style, but I don't exactly prefer it. (Too shiny for me. And yeahh, colour slumps are horrid. I have a few drawings which are more suited to my usual style though, so hopefully that'll change soon. The hair... honestly, I don't think I was putting much effort into anything at all. Which is bad, I know. As for the anatomy, damn. I need to work more, it seems. Later. Always later. XD Thanks again for the critique! You're welcome, and I'm glad you think so ^^"
Haha they are really big and bright! Maybe it would fit if the entire image was shiny and kira-kira overload XD Bleh, I hate it when I'm wondering about my drawing style and things look horrible TT_TT Well that's okay, we all have out bad days. Sometimes I can't be bothered to put any effort in at all, and it's obvious in the finished product. OTL Yep, procrastination for the win! Eeeerp, you're welcome x3 I'll always try to halp if you need it, nee-chan~ If I did that, I think my brain would have burned out. I'm not very used to 'kirakira' to be honest - I prefer subtleness. =w=;;
Lol, exactly. |D And for some reason, I don't get scared by deadlines anymore so it's really not helping me with due work. I'm so glad for your help Niji-channn~ ;w; You're the greatest~ I like sparkly things when used in moderation, sparkles overload is just a bit blegh. >_<
Haha that's something you should try and change! You're welcome~ That depends all on how you use the sparkles though.
I'm trying, I just need a bit of motivation. >w<)~<3 |
This captured my eye when I first saw it in my news feed, probably because the colours are really bright and saturated, but also because of those eyes. Those large shiny eyes, commonly used in a typical shoujo manga, you've recreated for Gumi in anime form. She's cute, but the eyes really are overdone and affect the piece hugely.
I have to agree with you about how you're in a colouring slump because it isn't your best so far, but clearly it's not bad either. I like how you coloured her clothes, but the eyes and hair seem to have changed in a slightly negative manner. I really like the simplistic background though, especially the reflection because it makes the floor look really shiny! Clean shiny glassy floors we all love, so nice work there! Gumi's shadow helps build up the shadow, which is nicely done.
Well, I do think that she resembles Gumi. It would have further distinguished her as Gumi if she had her signature goggles, because if you hadn't said so, we could've just assumed it was any old girl with snazzy green hair
